Functional specifications of BETOGARD E 1504:

• Adhesion (PULL OFF) of concrete surface: more than 3.2 newtons/mm2, based on ASTM D 4541 method, two layers of material (DFT 400 microns). One layer of material (DFT 200 microns)

• Adhesion (CROSSCUT-KNIFE) metal surface, 5 A, based on ASTM D 3359 method, two layers of material on sandblasted metal surface (DFT 400 microns)

Impact resistance: without damage and cracks, based on ASTM D 2794 method, two layers on the sandblasted metal surface, (DFT 400 microns)

SALT FOG: without causing looseness, rust and blisters, according to ASTM B 117 method, 1000 hours, two layers on the sandblasted metal surface, (DFT 400 microns)

Water content: less than 2%, based on ASTM D 570

Resistance to 5% NAOH alkali load: without rusting, blistering and separation from the surface, according to ISIRI 4042, two layers on the sandblasted metal surface, (DFT 400 microns)

• Resistance to 5% H2SO4 acid: without rusting, blistering and separation, according to ISIRI 4042, two layers on the sandblasted metal surface, (DFT 400 microns)

How to use:

The surface must be dry, clean, healthy and free from any contamination. Dust, rust and waste materials should be removed from the surface to improve adhesion. The minimum surface preparation is as follows:

1. Metal surface: In immersion mode, in order to obtain maximum adhesion and protection, the metal surface should be removed and cleaned by Sand Slast in the amount of 50 to 70 microns, according to the method (SSPC-10-NACE2). Sharp points, welding places or sharp corners should be rounded and smoothed. For the applications of the immersion suit, sandblasting according to (SSPC-SP-6, NACE3) with a minimum layering of 50 to 75 microns is suggested.

2. Aluminum and galvanized surfaces: 50 micron coating.

3. Mortar and concrete: at least 28 days after processing and the surfaces must be clean, dry and healthy. Any curing compound, mold oil, salts and loose extra materials should be removed from the surface.

4. Wood: remove any excess coating and make the surface of the wood rough.

Mixing:

BETOGARD E 1504 is presented in pre-weighed containers containing two components A and B. First, mix component a well and then add component B completely to component A and mix for 3 minutes. After this step, if needed, add diluent.

Note:

Components A and B should be stored at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius before mixing.

Performance:

BETOGARD E 1504 can be applied by brush, air pump and airless pump. The recommended surface temperature is 10 to 35 degrees Celsius and the surface temperature should be at least 3 degrees Celsius higher than the dew point. It is recommended in two layers for immersion or invasive environments. In this case, it is suitable to use an airless pump.

The amount of diluent used is suggested as follows:

Airless spray: 4 to 7 percent

Air spray: 5 to 8 percent

Brush: 4 to 8 percent

Packaging:

BETOGARD E 1504 is available in 4.9 and 22.05 kg sets.

• A=4 Kg and B=0.9 Kg

• A=18 Kg and B=4.05 Kg

Diluent: 4 or 20 liter gallons

Storage:

Containers should be stored in a dry, cool or well-ventilated place and away from heat or sparks.

Shelf life:

It can be used for up to 12 months if it is kept in the recommended conditions in the original packaging.

Safety:

BETOGARD E 1504 should be kept away from heat and direct flame. Avoid contact with clothing and eyes, and in case of skin contact, wash with soap and water. At the time of mixing, running and drying, use proper ventilation to prevent the increase in the concentration of produced vapors.
